Arkadii Ivanov Jake Wharton The principle of the article is that he forgot to remove the JDK 8 toolchain, but all the problems could have been possibly avoided just by updating the toolchain to something more recent, in combination with the Gradle "release" property, in order to keep it compatible if needed

It's stuff like this that Fil-C is designed to obviate. Imagine if the Debian folks were based enough to use Fil-C: - They wouldn't have to rewrite anything in apt. If they did make any changes, they would most likely be changes that still work in Yolo-C (i.e. GCC or clang).

Turns out you can communicate across containers via 63-bits of available space in a shared lock you acquire on /proc/self/ns/time that all processes have access to. No networking required. The post has a demo of a chat app communicating across unprivileged containers.

Friends, don't let friends depend on com.github.spotbugs:spotbugs-annotations. There's no reason to use spotbugs-annotations. It brings two outdated nullability annotations neither of which supports Java generics. Go with jspecify.dev if you need @Nullable

The benchmarks are in! StringZilla now ships Unicode 17 case-folding kernels for AVX-512 — covering 1M+ codepoints, hitting 10× gains on bicameral scripts, with fast pass-through on caseless ones. Think of StringZilla the next time you call "".lower() 😉 github.com/ashvardanian/S…
