Start of #ARUKConf22 is very exciting; great intro by π§ Hilary Evans-Newton π§ and a truly inspiring talk by Scott Mitchell. Fills me with empathy, fear for my family in early/mid dementia, and a fire to work harder in my research. π

Thank you to everyone at Alzheimer's Research UK for an excellent program and for making it cross-platform! Wished I was there but thoroughly enjoyed #ARUKConf2022 from Cambridge.

In our recent article, now out Nature Communications, we use #CryoEM and biophysics to offer some insights into #SARSCoV2 spike evolution in the human population and mechanisms leading to emergence of new variants nature.com/articles/s4146β¦ 1/4

π’We need your help! Do you know anyone working for Whitbread, who owns Premier Inn? Or would you be able to visit your local Premier Inn? If so, please ask the employees to vote Alzheimer's Research UK as their next charity partner! Send us photos if you've been, we'd love to see them!

Looking for a #PhDposition in #CryoET #teamtomo #CryoEM? Apply to our lab at MPI for Multidisciplinary Sciences and join the quest of explaining how sorting machines (a.k.a. vesicular coats) control #membranetrafficking! Please RT. mpinat.mpg.de/4000409/07-22?β¦

Excited to share this study biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh⦠done at The CIMR by Nathan Zaccai, Veronica KaneDickson, OwenLab, me and fab collaborators. We studied recruitment of FCHO2 to the sites of clathrin vesicle formation by high resolution live-cell eTIRF-SIM (with Fritzsche M et al+Kseniya)

An incredible cryoEM structure! Congratulations to Alexey Amunts https://bsky.app/profile/amunts.bsky and team. biorxiv.org/content/10.110β¦
