I am always amazed at my Michigan Law School students who enter uncomfortable spaces and stand up for those left behind. Today, @sarahmlbender rocked it at the Court of Appeals on behalf of a young adult in foster care with severe cognitive delays who the State wanted to make homeless.

So disappointed this is the first Vivek to run for president in the U.S. Vivek Murthy would have been my choice. nytimes.com/2023/02/21/us/…

So exciting to think about all of the individuals and families that will be served by these Michigan Law School students! Yes, learning will take place. But so many lives will be helped.

Thanks to John Kelly at the The Imprint for giving us the space to share why we believe relationships matter more to children than legal dispositions and why our current approach to child welfare is harming families.

Hot off the law review presses -- how the number of kids in foster care in New Orleans dropped 90% without endangering children. (besides the substance, great to work with amazing co-authors Christopher E. Church Vivek Sankaran Melissa Carter and Andy Barclay.) law.lclark.edu/live/files/348…
