Thanks to the hard work of our Grounds and Estates team, the Ampleforth Abbey site is now re-open for visitors, including the Visitor Centre and Tea Room. If you are travelling to us today, please drive with caution due to on-going icy conditions.

Today we begin the Church’s year with the First Sunday of Advent, a season of preparation and hope. Advent reminds us of God’s closeness. We make our own the simple prayer of the season, “Come, Lord Jesus”, repeating it in every moment that needs his light.

Did you know we offer tours of the Abbey Church every Sunday and Thursday at 2pm? If you are a member of Historic Houses, you can now join our tours free of charge – simply show your membership card to one of our team in the Visitor Centre on the day of your visit.
