Our NIH grant to discover coronavirus antiviral meds was terminated today. With this grant, we had developed a better SARSCoV2 inhibitor than Paxlovid, and we recently discovered an improved drug that looks better than Pfizer's own second-generation inhibitor.

I spend my days in the microscope quantifying things like the images below. These photos show neurons 🔵 and microglia 🟣 (brain immune cells). Each #SARSCoV2 infected cell entering the brain generates this response in our Covid monkey model. #FluorescenceFriday #NeuroCovid

YellowSubmarineEscapingTheIceberg Dana Ludwig I regularly produce false positives on RATs (FlowFlex included) particularly with throat swabs. I've never produced a false positive on PlusLife, Metrix, etc despite doing hundreds of them.

Our analysis suggests Long COVID, inc. COVID-triggered ME/CFS, now ranks among the most burdensome diseases in the US — ahead of stroke, diabetes & COPD It’s a rough estimate, but the message is clear: this crisis can’t be ignored. We need to scale research, funding & support

Shave a bit for a better fit! 🪒😷👍 Even a short beard can make an N95 or KN95 significantly less protective. Shaving in the areas where the mask touches your face is an easy fix! 1/3

I made this step by step video for a friend who is going to use PlusLife for the first time and figured I’d share it here as well. PlusLife is a nucleic acid amplification test for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses. More info about it here: virus.sucks/pluslife_en/

PACO Cat (Solidarit1) It is extremely unlikely that Pluslife (with webapp) will not show any signals if there are symptoms and the swab was reasonably good. Here I had tested a completely asymptomatic child with poor swabs. We had discovered the infection very early with a precautionary pool test.

🦉💜 Socratica Kim 💜🦉 I know about at least 5-6 people who persistently test positive on specific rapid tests, with negative molecular tests. It's definitely a thing and worthy of investigation by a specialized lab. Could be cross reactivity/false positive or something related to persistence.
