We’re delighted to welcome and support Josh Barnett in partnership with the University of Exeter, Cornwall as he studies for a PhD. Josh will investigate and assess factors affecting future scenarios for mammal carnivore populations in Britain and their long-term co-existence with humans.
The first pine marten den box is up in #MartensOnTheMove Scot/Eng Recovery Area! With volunteers, we put the box in a Solway Forest as a safe space for martens as they spread out from nearby Galloway Forest Park. Thanks @DalbeattieMensShed for the boxes. We’re delighted that Dr. Mihai Marinov will give a keynote talk at the 35th European Mustelid Colloquium in Romania (24-27 Sept). Dr. Marinov is a researcher from Danube Delta National Institute for R & D in Romania, and will talk on his many years of study on the critically endangered European mink.
#MartensOnTheMove recently joined in #MonmouthPride, organised by #QueeringtheWye, a project that supports the LGBTQ+ community to connect with nature. #InternationalBatNight VWT works with vols to monitor lesser+greater horseshoe bats in its reserves and to enhance roosts to suit the bats’ needs. It is also working with local communities to protect the barbastelle in its Pembs stronghold through Natur am Byth!. @HeritageFundCYMRU
