Check out our cool big paper on #Saxifraga, distinguishing biome shift from biogeographic shift in the Arctic-alpine system. Changing biome is easier than moving long-distance and Arctic-alpine transitions are mostly Plio-Pleistocene. nature.com/articles/s4146…

An oil painting of a tropical orchid (Aeridostachya robusta) I illustrated a few years ago, inspired by an encounter with the plant in the cloud forests of Borneo.

This map shows the most common name for a creek in each state using data from the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) database. I made this map in 2015 and stumbled across it today.

This weekend, the team visited Guana Island, where sheep have already been removed years ago. The vegetation is lush and there are plenty of seedling and sapling around, giving us clues how Great Tobago vegetation might recover, once goats are irradicated. #KewBVI #BVITIPAs

Psychilis krugii, my most exciting find during a recent trip to Puerto Rico. So cool to see these beautiful pseubobulbous epiphytes growing on low shrubs and Agave in the island’s southwestern dry forests. The flowers were incredibly variable just within this small population.
