Controversy continues over #BradfordOdeon : Bradford Live today confirmed they ‘have a contract with the NEC and are working to that contract’ - but any questions regarding the operation should be directed to them. Meanwhile NEC told ITV News Calendar it has ‘nothing to add’

The curtain will come up this evening on a unique adaptation of #Shakespeare 's Romeo and Juliet - set around Hull's fishing industry in the 1950's. Dark Immersions Productions are staging the play at #Hull 's Park Street Theatre before heading to Beverley and Bridlington.

A new animal enclosure forming part of the £50m expansion of the Yorkshire Wildlife Park has been approved by Doncaster Council. The new 4 acre enclosure will be called the Cheddar reserve and will house animals which have previously not been seen at the park.

A £3m pound fundraising campaign is being launched today to create a brand new hospice in West Yorkshire. Overgate Hospice in Halifax has revealed plans for a £12m new build on its existing site, to include 16 private rooms for residents plus facilities for families.

Around 3 in 4 LNER services will be cancelled tomorrow because of strike action by train drivers in the Aslef union. Services between London, Edinburgh and Yorkshire will be affected.

The number of children and young people being permanently excluded and suspended from schools in Lincolnshire has risen by more than 200% in the last two years. That's according to the Department for Education. Yorkshire has seen a 54% rise.

It's congratulations to Mansfield Town FC who are celebrating promotion to League One. The Stags 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley sparked wild scenes at full time last night. The club haven't played in the third tier for over 20 years.

A new report shows that North East Lincolnshire has the 1/3rd highest amount of children in care in the country - with 1 child in 58. The report, being presented to MPs today, highlights disproportionate numbers of children being looked after by authorities in the North.

A pair of refugee cheesemakers from West Yorkshire have won a TV competition to supply over 1,000 Aldi stores with their Syrian-style cheese rolls. Razan Alsous and Raghid Sandouk fled their home country following the outbreak of war there in 2012.

The family of a Hull Dad who died after a single punch – are taking to the classroom to teach young people about the dangers of such attacks. Scott Akester was on a night out in the city in November 2022 when he assaulted. Now – his mum is speaking in schools across the region.

A Yorkshire charity has called on politicians to do more to support parents struggling with the costs of looking after young children, after a new baby bank opened in Immingham. The Government says they're offering support to families through their help for Households Schemes.
