My thoughts on bulk billing & greedy doctors. When Medicare started, we did 6 years of medical school, hung up our shingle & became GPs. Medicare subsidised most of the cost of care so we could privately bill those who could afford it to subsidise the gap for those who couldn’t.

My hand accidentally slipped this morning and I booked an all-inclusive resort stay for Fiji in June. Whoops. 😂

Popped in sutures in an awake patient for the first time tonight and the consultant complemented me 🥹🥹🥹 I'll be over in the corner crying happy tears.

Hot take: We underutilize IV iron due to fear of side effects while many patients on oral iron suffer needlessly.

At the supermarket and one of the employees came up to me and asked if I had sutured his hand earlier this year in the ED. Proudly said yes I had, and he showed me a beautifully healed scar! 🤩🤩🤩 Little wins!

Excited to share that today marks the end of my Doctor of Medicine studies Deakin University Now to enjoy a few weeks of holidays before embarking on my internship with Grampians Health
