I love this visual. So many of our students hear language from adults that disaffirms their experiences and emotions.

When our young people have experienced toxic stress over an extended period of time,their brains and nervous systems are continually scanning the environment for what is safe and what is dangerous. Hyperarousal keeps them in a constant state of stress.🧠🌱
