Lovely story on Maharaja Wadiyar founded MPVL, maker of indelible ink. It was introduced in 1962 after rising voting fraud in the 1952 and 1957 elections and remained main bulwark against electoral fraud till 1993 when voter cards were introduced.

The Electoral Commission of South Africa says having freshly manicured nails won't prevent anyone from voting, and nail technicians have offered tips and tricks for those wanting to deal with the indelible ink left on fingernails.
