VICA-opposed #SB1272 by Laird, originally looking to regulate gift certificates, has now been gut and amended, securing VICA a legislative victory. The bill now focuses on developing a program EIR for clean energy infrastructure.

VICA-supported #AB2910 by Assemblymember Miguel Santiago, focused adopting alternative regulations for the conversion of commercial buildings to residential use, has passed the Assembly with Senate amendments, and is now being engrossed. Another VICA Victory!

Seismic Compliance Bills - #SB1119 (Newman), #SB1432 (Caballero), #SB1447 (Durazo), have all been amended. Original language intended to provide extensions of seismic requirements have been altered. Now the bills will allow hospitals to seek compliance waivers from the DHCA.

VICA-Supported #AB1820 by Assemblymember Pilar Schiavo, which would require local agencies to provide development proponents with good-faith estimates on fees and a fee-schedule, has passed the Assembly, now moving to engrossing and enrolling. #CALeg
