French and Spanish teacher. I like to play football in the park with my brother. Last weekend I went shopping. Next weekend if it is sunny I would like to swim.

Imagine if the teaching profession wasn’t so bogged down in performativity - how many teachers could’ve reclaimed hours of their lives by leaving at 3:30/4 instead of hanging around tired as hell so they were seen to sign out and leave the staff car park later.

Under Gibb's watch England has: * The unhappiest children in Europe * School is the aspect of life children are least happy with * Reading for pleasure scores plummeted * Never hit teacher recruitment targets * School buildings are crumbling But yeah, phonics 🙄

Oh dear. Just when you thought Gibbo couldn't get any worse, he aligns himself to a Trump appointed devotee who knows even less about education than him. A match made in Trumpland. Surely no education professional in the UK can delight in this match? Economies of truth here.

We can probably all agree with this tweet. But the rest of the thread gets in a bit of a muddle with some parts seemingly deemed more acceptable than others. Look forward to seeing if the blog post straightens it out for me a bit.

"Eggs have come down 400%" : Trump 👇 How daft is that. If they came down just 100% they would be free. Their coming down by 400% means, if anything, the shop 𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐘𝐎𝐔 three times what they used to cost to take them However did Americans elect such a noodlehead ?

Write this post to see if it helped stop feeling sick about the A Level translation. Just made me feel angry. May delete it when I feel less angry. So read it now. How long until we can't in good faith let kids do this course? whoteacheslanguages.blogspot.com/2025/06/really…

This really resonates with me. I completely agree with the sentiment about the current state of A-Level; it's recruitment and the seemingly insurmountable difficulty students face in achieving high grades.

The fact we can't tell if teacher salaries are meeting minimum wage laws shows we have deep problems with the structure of teacher pay and conditions. The 1265hr deal was a response in the mid 90s to changing employment laws. It needs an overhaul. schoolsweek.co.uk/schools-risk-i…
