Today is a day of reflection and remembrance seven years on from the Manchester Arena attack in which 22 people lost their lives. Our thoughts are with the families and survivors as well as voluntary and community sector colleagues who supported then and have done since.

Today we remember the 72 people who died in the fire at Grenfell Tower seven years ago. We were created a year later to strengthen partnerships and connect people when emergencies strike. Our thoughts are with those who died and everyone who lives with the impact to this day.

We clearly and unequivocally condemn the acts of violence against communities at the weekend. We call on all in civil society to continue to come together and draw on the incredible displays of strength, kindness and support that have emerged.
