As a scientist, one of my absolute fav things to do is apply methods that we've developed to imaging datasets from the literature that we love to test our theories of how the brain is organised. Our newest paper in Cell Reports led by Natasha Taylor ticks all these boxes!
Happy to share this pre-print led by Hayley Thorpe (post-doc in The Lab of NODD) in collaboration with @e_covey_johnson Abraham Palmer and Sandra Sanchez-Roige!
Our new approach for #chemogenetic tuning of #dopamine imaging sensitivity is now out in Nature Communications Fantastic teamwork by @LabouesseMarie Maria Wilhelm, Zacharoula Kagiampaki, Andrew Yee and many amazing collabs! @LouisTrudeau Yaroslav Sych🇺🇦 rdcu.be/dLO3m
New paper out in Nature Neuroscience! Collaborating with several labs, we developed genetically encoded biosensors to track opioid pharmacology in the brain & provide powerful new tools for dissecting complex circuit-specific dynamics 🔧🧠 nature.com/articles/s4159…
🔔🔵After nearly 5 years from its conception with Johannes Bohacek, I'm proud to share that our paper on opto-fMRI of the Locus Coeruleus is finally published in Nature Neuroscience! Huge thanks to everyone who contributed—including reviewers and editors! rdcu.be/dT3kB
Happy to share Anisia's work AJP-Endocrinology and Metabolism where we found that the adrenoceptor alpha-1b plays a key role in mediating the effects of the sympathetic nervous system on hepatic metabolism, particularly in female mice! journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.11…
I am recruiting graduate students for my lab McGill University for admission in Fall 2025! Get in touch if you're interested in how brain circuits implement distributed computation, including dopamine-based distributed RL and probabilistic representations.
Our work with Pablo Tano , HyungGoo Kim Athar N Malik, MD, PhD Alexandre Pouget and Nao Uchida exploring how dopamine neurons could enable multi-timescale reinforcement learning in the brain is out in nature nature.com/articles/s4158…
