Real progress goes nearly unnoticed way too often:

1/ How much comp should the first engineer at a venture backed startup get–cash + equity? I’ve been asked this question tens (hundreds?) of times over the past months by both founders and engineers looking to join at the pre-seed/seed stage.

The real victims of the SVB fallout are the depositors: startups (10 to 100 employees) who cannot make payroll, and will have to shut down or furlough *next week* If these startups wait weeks/months for their deposits, we have destroyed a generation of US startups, *at random*

This is what true leadership looks like. More people should emulate Garry Tan, and more broadly, amplify his message.
