Had a lovely session with an energetic group of undergraduates this morning at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced scientific research JNCASR Bangalore at their POBE program. Future of research is bright 😎 Thanks sheeba vasu for inviting me!
An interesting dive (pun intended) into how a small tropical fish became the darling of so many modern biologists. Had fun speaking about this with Subhra Priyadarshini DBT/WT India Alliance National Centre for Biological Sciences IZFS Zebrafish Rock!

They're finally online! The co-submitted papers finally see the light in their final form. Many thanks to Kendra Liu and Dr. Sarah Kucenas for the coordination, and Ondine Cleaver 🇺🇦 for being an excellent EIC #DevBio #zebrafish sciencedirect.com/science/articl… sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Happy to share a fantastic work from Harshith C Y part I of his PhD thesis, now in Cell Reports. We report a stepwise signalling cascade involving two different peptides in rice wound-responses. Rice activates growth very quickly post-wounding unlike dicots cell.com/cell-reports/f…
It has been a privilege to work with Shiva prasad for my PhD. It was absolute joy working to discover novel regulatory roles of small peptides and the signalling mediated by them. Thanks a lot to all the co-authors- Avik Kumar Pal Ashwin Nair Monoswi Chakraborty Steffi.
