When was the last time we had two upsets like this in both semifinals of a 1000? Both Djokovic and Sinner were like 70-75% favorites coming in.

Awesome stuff from Ruud. The first 3 games of the third set will stick with me. Djokovic had all the momentum and he countered brilliantly, hit that backhand down the line, anticipated wonderfully, and then really withstood a lot. Easily the biggest win of his career. Well earned

Good honest answer from Stef on his would be double-fault: 'I think the match would have turned out completely different if that would have been called out. I will agree that it would have been pretty bad for me if that call was made.'

What an incredible turnaround. Dug so deep. Prob should’ve been down 1-4 in 3rd set in truth, but Tsitsipas’ resilience/mental fortitude was big. Sinner struggled with his hamstring. Still work to do on the clay.

2 1000s in a row…one-hander in masters final. Back in top 10 ✌️

Electronic line calling in 2025 on clay can't come soon enough.

There's been two bad calls in this final set, one each way, so it evens out. The Tsitsipas serve missed by a lot, not called. Earlier we had Tsitsipas being affected by an out call, umpire thought otherwise.

Is this really Ruud’s best shot to beat Djokovic or is the matchup for Djokovic (10-0 in sets) way too clear for him tactically that he might continue to not need his best level to prevail? We may also just see Djokovic’s level rise to a higher gear than what we’ve seen so far.

Tsitsipas needs to have an incredible serving day (like 70% first serves in) and his forehand needs to be the biggest shot on court. Gonna be a tough ask with all the improvements Sinner has made in his game, but this court also does a good job of hiding Stef’s weaknesses better.

Sinner and Tsitsipas have met 8x. Tsitsipas leads 5-3, but I find tomorrow fascinating cuz we’ve never seen Peak Sinner (post-puke) vs a good version of Tsitsipas.

All 3 Sinner wins - Tsitsipas physically compromised.

2020 Rome - Leg
2023 Rotterdam - Shoulder
2023 Turin - Back

Left thinking Tsitsipas has a better chance of beating Sinner than Ruud does over Djokovic. Not by that much though. Very curious to see which underdog can make it more competitive. These are all very good players on this surface.

I’m really glad both Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas are big time back in the mix during the clay season. Both made a slam final and won a 250 in 2023, but apart from that we didn’t see them in a great place. Too many people wrote them off completely. They are still just 25.
