My slides from last week's @VanJS talk on Async/Await in JavaScript In practice, the talk was more about the pitfalls of Promises! During the Q&A period, I may have saved someone's sanity by explaining util.promisify neilk.net/talk/async-awaโ€ฆ

After 10 years, Allen Pike has passed the torch of organizing VanJS to Shawn McKay (๐Ÿ†‚๐Ÿ…ทโ’ถโ“Œโ“ƒ ๐Ÿ…ผ๐Ÿ…ฒ๐Ÿ…บโ’ถโ“Ž) and the broader community of folks who have stepped via our GitHub repo to propose talks and coordinate new events. Here's to many more years of community. ๐ŸŒŸ

Yes. Yes I do. Sept 27, 2012. My very first external technical presentation was at a VanJS meetup, which turned out to be in front sizeable crowd in a theater (I remember 100s of people, it felt like1000s. Allen Pike and Jason San Jose were there and may recall).

If you're enjoying the #cjs19 live stream, you can thank Heroku! They are making it possible for us to share the conference with our *entire* community. They are also put together a killer list of resources for getting started building JS apps! 2019.cascadiajs.com/getting-started
