happening now: The Minister of State for Agriculture Hon. Kyakulaga Fred Bwino MP has today declared the start of harvesting date for vanilla for season A 2024. MAAIF 🇺🇬 CRSUganda. 24th June 2024 has been the date that has been declared by the Minister.

Hon. Fred Bwino Kyakulaga, the Minister of State for Agriculture, along with officials from the Uganda Police Force and the Association of Vanilla Exporters of Uganda Limited, is addressing the media regarding the vanilla harvest, pricing, and crop protection in Uganda.

The harvest date is a date when the Vanilla growers should start harvesting their crop in a given season. It is now five years since MAAIF 🇺🇬 spearheaded this initiative.

The market oriented vanilla sector Road map will guide activities in the sector by value chain actors in a move to build a vibrant, resilient, sustainable, and competitive industry.

VANEX hosted an Exporter-Importer workshop, bringing together 18 Ugandan vanilla exporters and 10 international buyers from USA, France, and Germany. The event focused on adapting sourcing practices and exploring how Uganda’s vanilla industry can seize emerging opportunities.
