“session” may also indicate that this is a form of therapy. we know this to be set in something of a medical setting: the band being adminstered medication, rule #53 mentioning ‘therapy’ and the backing band being referred to as ‘medical staff’ and ‘hospital crew’ by gerard.

# 2 this speech is about transformation, turning into a person you don’t recognise. this is almost certainly regarding the (re)conditioning process, a process that seems to brainwash people in becoming docile servants of draag.

his reference to “brutality” also implies that the re(conditioning) process unearths violence in the subject, one that previously may have not been innate to them. we can see this violence manifesting in the clerk and gerard, being triggered during ‘blood’.

it seems that the newscaster is speaking directly to gerard here, coaching them on how to ‘lead’ the show. he implies gerard is the student but will become the teacher, aiding in the idea that gerard / the black parade are being used as draag’s personal propaganda machine.

# 3 a lot of this speech is fairly nonsensical and i’m finding it hard to understand its message and purpose. but the fact it plays whilst gerard and the clerk are drawing the “chalk” body outline and playing children’s games holds significance.

gerard and the clerk may be the “child”ren in question, often appearing childlike in their behaviour and mannerisms. this may well be an effect of the (re)conditioning process, making its subjects impressionable and obedient, easily susceptible to instruction and influence.

“let me see who loves you” may refer to draag wanting to see the influence / fanbase / audience that the black parade has so that they know who will want to see the black parade live and thus who will be receptive of their propaganda.

# 4 during the first line, gerard is looking down at the chalk them and the clerk have just drawn. this, coupled with this speech, feels much like it’s foreshadowing the scene we see during ‘blood’: they are “friends” but one “must now erase” that fact by murdering them.

once the final line is spoken, ‘sleep’ kicks in and gerard screams into the microphone. simply a vocal choice? entirely probable but if they’re aware that they have to kill the clerk, it could be a way of showing their frustration about the situation they’ve been forced into.

the fact that during ‘blood’ on night two of this leg (chile night 1), gerard appeared to be screaming and crying whilst stabbing the clerk supports the idea that they are not a willing participant in this act of killing their friend.

“this is the worst day of your life, but the first of yourself” - referring back to speech # 2 and the “pain” that is required to “learn”, it seems that in order to be (re)conditioned and made anew, torture is involved. the harrowing visuals during ‘sleep’ support this.

# 5 i think the newscaster is speaking to gerard directly again here. my theory is that draag was watching / following the black parade before their ‘deaths’ in mexico city in 2007, hence “i’ve had it (your picture) for quite some time” and “i’ve always heard your voice”.

the fact that the clips from black parade is dead and the wttbp and flw videos, made to look like security footage, is shown on screen on mama supports the idea that draag have been watching the black parade for a long time. more on this theory here:
