MethaneSAT has successfully separated from the SpaceX #Falcon9! We're in orbit 🌌 The spacecraft will now boot up its computer and 'detumble', using its actuators to slow down the spinning caused by the deployment.

Once this is complete, the spacecraft automatically triggers the solar arrays to deploy. The satellite will then use a set of sun sensors to orient itself toward the Sun so the solar arrays can start charging the batteries.

Lastly, MethaneSAT will start a radio beacon to locate it using the ground antenna. Once connected, operators will send a command to activate the S-band radio transmitter. They will then send first commands, checking MethaneSAT received, interpreted, and executed the command.
