This month, I had the pleasure of speaking at the ANPA Philadelphia-Delaware Valley CKD Symposium. It was great teaching healthcare professionals about CKD management alongside other nephrologists. I plan to participate in more events & projects focused on CKD education.

Penn Kidney Disease Screening & Awareness Program (KDSAP) provides free community health screenings & physician consultations within underserved areas in Philadelphia. It’s been rewarding working with the undergraduate students in designing educational posters about CKD and eGFR.

Presented today for Renal Grand Rounds on a topic that is not discussed enough but affects so many of our patient population. Grateful for the great discussion and points made on how we can better address depression for those living with ESRD.

Presented for Transplant conference this week on the elimination of race from the calculation of Kidney Donor Risk Index (KDRI)/Kidney Donor Profile Index (KDPI). This change could potentially reduce discard of kidneys from Black donors, leading to more Black kidney recipients.

The month of November was eventful but wanted to highlight my time at ASN 2023. Presented the work I completed during my fellowship and co-moderated the Health Equity session focused on disparities within health education and clinical research ❤️#asn #kidneyweek

Last month, I had the privilege of attending the annual Women in Nephrology (WIN) Conference in LA for its 40th anniversary! The two-day conference included lectures by Dr. Katherine Tuttle and insight from Dr. Ellie Kelepouris and Dr. Jia Ng on impactful leadership.

I was excited when Dr. Christina Clay invited me to speak at “Let’s Talk: Sickle Cell and Kidney Health”. I shared insights on sickle cell disease’s effects on kidney function. Dr. Christina Clay and her team are doing outstanding work in the South Jersey area.
