Thanks for highlighting our (Shruti Muralidhar) report and its coverage by Dyani Lewis. As we mention in our report, fixing this will require clearly earmarked resources, and importantly, the will and strong commitment to equity from the leadership in Indian academia

🔈Spotted a new website called IAP-WiSTEMM. A joint initiative of the 3 academies IASc, Bengaluru Indian National Science Academy (INSA) & NASI, it describes itself as "an inclusive one-stop resource for women working in India in any area of STEM & allied fields". Anyone have more info? wistemm.in

1/2 2024 news: After 2years of struggle, re-visions and sim+expr the team has finally made it - paper in Biophysical Journal Shivani Yadav Neha Khetan Aman soni | अमन सोनी dhruv (not on Twitter) Wave-like oscillations of clamped microtubules driven by collective dynein transport. Biophys.

Deeply disappointed that #manels are still a thing in 2024. Requesting my colleagues from IISc Bangalore, Raman Research Institute and IIT Bombay to reconsider their participation in this event. There is no dearth of excellent women researchers in Biophysics in Indian unis!

Happy to see this online! This report contains our analysis of BiasWatchIndia 's data from 2020-23. Some stark statistics here. I hope all stakeholders, incl unis & funding agencies take notice and importantly, action. Thanks to @CommsBio_MB for a smooth editorial process!

Looks like a fun conference - but super disappointed with the representation of women (<25%). Surely, there are several fantastic women scientists who could be invited? BiasWatchIndia Mohit Kumar Jolly Ramray Bhat EMBO IISc Bangalore
