Former museum worker Hawke is in the news for their work at USU! Sediment from below the Greenland ice sheet tells more about the last time the ice was much smaller than today. Way to go! 😎 eurekalert.org/news-releases/… #friendsdoingcoolthings #breakingnews #geobadgers

Our talk today at The Geological Society has been postponed until the 29th of August but to make up for it we thought we'd share an update of a cartoon we drew back in 2017, the adorable Geology Badger 🦡 #Geology #CartoonGeology #CartoonScience

Meet Annemarie! She a geological engineering student, our Tour Coordinator, and assists with curating our collections. She can also sing almost any #TaylorSwift song from memory, and her favorite specimen is the Canyon Diablo Meteorite! ☄️ #museumlife #meetourcrew #meteorites

Pallasite meteorites can tell us about the earliest days of our solar system. This piece is cut and polished to show the cm-sized olivine crystals and sits on display with some of the oldest rocks on our planet! #meteorite #peridot #olivine #shiny #outerspace #oldthings

Have you checked out the teeth of “Stan” the T. Rex? They range from relatively small to the size of a banana! Dinosaurs could continuously replace broken teeth, and for T. Rex these teeth could take 2 years to grow back. #FossilFriday

When Mars attacks! This piece of Mars broke off, sped through space, and impacted Earth in 2011. Martian meteorites account for less than 1% of all meteorites found on Earth, and you can see one on display at our museum! #MarsAttacks #HappyHalloween #meteorite #spacerock

Many of the specimens of Ninumbeehan dookoodukah were collected during my first field season with UW Geology Museum Dave Lovelace and Cal So 蘇震峰. The photo on the left is the block that contained the holotype, and the other is a referred specimen.
