UnitedUltimateLeague Cool! :-) How much does this league seek to compete with the AUDL directly? It's set up very similarly, but the way you talk about it makes it feel more like another way to play ultimate with maybe a little better visibility. Is it a community-funded league or a pro league?

UnitedUltimateLeague I've heard people calling for more information, and I think that's legit! The FAQ page in the Kickstarter is blank, and there is at least one unanswered question in the comments asking for more clarification. People want to know you've thought this through!

UnitedUltimateLeague So it will have owners in the same way the AUDL does? People with lotsa money putting up money for the day-to-day expenses of pro athletes?

UnitedUltimateLeague Thanks for the answers! So there are investors to own the league? Or are you still hoping to attract investors? I got super lucky finding a couple ultimate peeps who were interested in helping me start the gym, but that's a much smaller-scale project...

UnitedUltimateLeague So year 1 would be funded by the Kickstarter...for year 2 I personally don't see how people coming to games can hope to fund the cost of flying all the teams around/all the gear/health insurance and everything - the rest of the money would come from these sponsors/investors?

UnitedUltimateLeague I think if the AUDL owners had sat still while this campaign was running, it would be a different story, but their model is slightly more proven and people see the potential to shift something existing instead of creating something new. I'm not holding my breath for that though!

UnitedUltimateLeague I don't think the idea is dead, or that this specific league format is no good!! Lukewarm reception was prob due to awkward timing with other conversations that were already happening in the community, and a lack of understanding on our part of how the league would function.
