Our NSA-sponsored “STARTALK Teaching for Proficiency and Career Readiness” program for teachers of critical languages is underway! We are so proud of our 30 secondary and post-secondary language teacher participants who are devoting their summer to improving their teaching!

The Modern Languages Department is proud to announce a new minor in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies. The new minor focuses on ASL language skills and explores classes in Deaf culture and ASL theory and linguistics.

Native Deaf artist and 2024 Ford Foundation Fellow, Nancy Rourke (Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians. Kumeyaay Nation) will present about her work at UTA. Mark your calendar!
