Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar had 74 Bungas, made by Sikh Chiefs for its defence and accommodation. The most beautiful and imposing Bunga Sarkar of Maharaja Ranjit Singh was demolished by British in 1862 and a Gothic Clock Tower was constructed. It was demolished by Sikhs in 1945.
