The Future is Now: Another Amtrak “Next Generation” train set—assembled at Alstom in Hornell, NY—is completed and soon to be ready for use on the Northeast Corridor hopefully this spring. Caught it near Swain, NY today. These sleek new sets are capable of speeds of 160 MPH.

How can this country not want this?

When an airplane can pick me up and drop me off in the center of the city, come talk to me. High speed rail is the closest thing we have to teleportation from city center to city center.

Imagine if we were a country where trains like this served every metro area and connected you throughout the state and the country?

In 2017, Texas banned high-speed rail. Today, I announced legislation to repeal that outdated ban and invest in the rail line Texans deserve. HB 483 would connect Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio along the I-35 corridor. This is about expanding our economy and connecting Texans.
