For any new UI idea post 2000, we should add a 2x penalty simply because it was thought of in the 21st century. It is a good proxy for being bad. It should have to prove itself that it is actually good with twice the effort and justification.

For consumer stuff, Google image search for "UI/UX design" what we're going to get in the future—i.e. hyperbouba UI. Purple/Magenta combo has won the battle for colors in the 21st century by a huge margin.

the world depicted in the original Foundation stories is described well enough to get the sense that this is how Asimov saw it. electromechanical high tech futurism i wish they had made the Foundation TV show using this era of design and technology as the basis instead
