Today the United Nations #FirstCommitee reaffirmed the world opposes nuclear weapons in space. Thanks to hard work by 🇦🇷 🇯🇵 🇺🇸 and 55 additional cosponsors, 160 UN members uplifted and enhanced the cornerstone Outer Space Treaty. 🇺🇳 JAPAN Delegation to the Conference on Disarmament Argentina en ONU 🇦🇷🇺🇳

States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention elected Czechia and North Macedonia to the OPCW Executive Council and denied Russia a seat, reinforcing global norms against the use of chemical weapons. Russia must cease CWC violations in its war against Ukraine.

Today, at the United Nations, 167 countries resoundingly supported a #UNGA resolution recognizing that outer space must remain a domain free from nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, and took steps to further enhance the spirit of the Outer Space Treaty. #UNGA79
