Since clearing out 20 years of excessive growth in our garden pond, there's been plenty of dragon activity . Egg laying by Southern Hawker, Common Darter and this unidentified species. Des Jennings


Its been a great summer for Butterflies in the Garden with 20 species recorded, some of which were in good numbers, such as Large and small white, Gatekeeper common blue. These 3 species recorded this week. Very few birds though 3 sightings of Red Kite in a week. Des Jennings

WWT Mid-point - possible Buff-breasted Sandpiper at 14:00, as tide revealed mudflats. Not 100% sure on ID and juv Ruff a strong possibility. Bird was alone, so difficult to gauge size. Pale tones very notable, golden even. Been advised BBS possibility Slimbridge Sightings #GlosBirds

Peregrine again Draycote Water, even performing a stoop dive to no avail. Also Ruff, 6+ Greenshank, 3 Common Sandpiper, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Raven, 27 Goosander and 16 Little Egret. A Muntjac put in another appearance. Draycotebirding
