70 year old, Mzee (meaning “old person”, with respect), walked 3 hours to our guest house in Lwiro to deliver mushrooms he picked from the bush, hoping for a sale. They paid him $1, which is about one day’s pay here in DRC.

Update! Oak Grove Montessori school in Charleston, South Carolina raised enough money to buy 19 igloo type mosquito nets for families in Congo! These nets will protect many children from the deadly Malaria disease. Thank you to Ms. Jenny, Aaron Miller, and your fellow classmates!
