Dr. Dare Baldwin and colleagues received a U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Hazards Program grant. They will offer families the opportunity to experience a new EEW alert simulation and consult with them about improving education, training, messaging, and preparedness practices.

The Oregon Sleep Lab was well-represented at the PNW Sleep & Circadian Network conference. PI Casement gave a presentation and led a professional development roundtable. Kunyi Zhou, Jessica Olsen, Holly Siu, Aubrey Rossi, Sojeong Kim, & Ruby Cuellar presented posters! Great work!

Shout out to our Spring 2024 Peer Lab Leaders! Peer Lab Leaders guide PSY 202 (Mind & Society) students through a series of lab activities designed to illustrate topics and methods covered in PSY 202.

UO Psych alum, Dr. Jennifer M. Gómez, received the Frank W Putnam Outstanding Book Award from the International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation for her book "The Cultural Betrayal of Black Women & Girls: A Black Feminist Approach to Healing from Sexual Abuse".

Graduate Student, Gretchen Nihill has been awarded a CSWS Graduate Student Research Grant to support her project, "Compounding Safety Cues for Women of Color". This project focuses on expanding safety cues research to focus on individuals with multiple stigmatized identities.

Dr. Margaret Sereno recently received a UO Research Seed Grant with co-PIs Ihab Elyeyadi in Architecture and Richard Taylor in Physics entitled “Bringing Nature Indoors: Understanding the Positive Impact of Nature’s Fractal Patterns”. Congrats, Dr. Sereno!

Congrats to Dr. Jagdeep Bala, the 2024 recipient of the UO Senate Wayne T. Westling Award! This prestigious award is given to one UO faculty each year. Dr. Bala is an important and long-time member of the department, serving in many roles. We are so happy to congratulate her!

On May 23rd, the University of Oregon hosted its 13th annual Undergraduate Research Symposium. There were 26 posters from the psychology department. Congratulations to the three award winners and to all the poster presenters who took part by sharing their science!

Congratulations to Dr. Jeffrey Measelle, who was selected as a 2024 recipient for the Herman Award for Specialized Pedagogy! This award highlights senior faculty at the University of Oregon who demonstrate outstanding achievement and expertise in a particular area of teaching.

Congratulations to Dr. Alayna Park, one of the 2024 awardees of the Varda Shoham Clinical Science Training Initiative! This grant aims to support training programs that are especially innovative, transformative, or impactful in improving scientifically grounded training.

Congratulations to Dr. Nicole Dudukovic, a 2024 Williams Fellow! The fellowship recognizes teachers who are innovative inside and outside the classroom. The Williams Fellowship specifically celebrates teachers who generate innovations and collaborate outside their courses.

Ahoy! Psychology's 2024 SAIL Voyage! ⛵️ SAIL, the Student Academy to Inspire Learning, is a University of Oregon pre-college immersive summer program that inspires Oregon high schoolers to pursue higher education. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to make this possible!
