We have a rich and thriving Hispanic and Latino community in our schools and greater area. We respect and acknowledge their contributions and cultural diversity in this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month.

On Friday, September 13th, MBK Uniondale hosted the “Score Big with Books” summer reading event at the Uniondale High School field. Participants were treated to games, music, a performance by the UHS marching band, face painting and the opportunity to “shop” for more books.

Uniondale UFSD hosted our fourth annual Latinx Soccer Jamboree on Saturday, September 14th.  The Office of Multilingual Learners organized this family and community event that celebrated Latinx heritage, soccer, scholar achievement, music and dance.

100% of the MBK Mentee/Scholars Graduated from HS!  Our MBK Graduation Sub-Committee launched a community mentoring project to support students in need of help on their road to high school graduation.  Community leaders, local business owners and Univ. staff served as mentors.
