Faculty at Chicago's largest university have voted to authorize a strike. This is UIC United Faculty(my former union)'s 2nd strike authorization in 3 years, coming months after grad workers w/ UIC GEO (my other former union) won their 2nd strike in 3 yrs. The U of I keeps provoking strikes.

UPDATE: Union Pacific, one of the railroads that successfully fought off workers' demands for paid sick days, announced a record $7 billion profit. The company said it spent $1.7 billion more on stock buybacks in 2022 than on pay and benefits for all of its employees.
