QIEC mission to Jakarta, November 1-3, 2023 UNIDO representatives visited Jakarta with the aim of establishing opportunities for direct technical cooperation between the QIEC project and leading QI institutions in Indonesia to develop Timor-Leste's Quality Infrastructure system.

UNIDO head office representative, Ms. April Chang visited Timor-Leste after her mission in Jakarta concluded. Her mission began on 6-17 November 2023, with the aim of presenting the QIEC project and identifying potential synergies with relevant institutions in Timor-Leste.

November 17, 2023, the 1st Project Steering Committee of QIEC Project meeting was held in Kofi Annan Conference room, UN-House, Dili, Timor-Leste. As the main governance mechanism, the objectives of this meeting are to build good communication and interaction between all parties.

On Tuesday, 5 December 2023, the UN Timor-Leste organized a meeting with Development Partners supporting the country in the area of Trade Facilitation, to strengthen the articulation and coordination between the Development Partners.

Friday, 15 November 2023, IQTL, I.P. held a National Workshop with the topic "The Role of National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) for Timor-Leste's Economic Development through Exports and Imports". Participants in the workshop were from lines of ministries & Private sector.

On two separate occasions, head institutions of IQTL, I.P; AIFAESA. IP, and UNIDO TL, accompanied by the trainers handed over the certificates of completion to successful participants in training Fundamentals of Metrology, Standardization, Conformity Assessment, and Accreditation

On 23 February 2024, UNIDO provided training to the IQTL, I.P management team on QI systems assessment and how to use the assessment results to develop QI improvement plans, delivered by the Chief Technical Advisor, Dr. Palmira Lopez-Fresno.

On 12 March 2024 the CTA of UNIDO Timor-Leste, Dr. Palmira López-Fresno, held a meeting with representatives from the Dili Institute of Technology/DIT; On 13 March 2024, she met with the Rector of the Institute of Business (IOB), Dr. Pedro Ximenes & IOB top management team.
