Matthew Engel writing a shopping list would be worth a read but this tribute to a much-loved colleague is special. If you've read a Guardian sports report in the past 57 (!) years, the chances are that Jeremy Alexander helped make it fit for publication theguardian.com/sport/2023/jun…

The sale of my beloved Southend United is of the utmost urgency. Our chairman Ron Martin needs to engage with the buyers and compromise or we will be finished. I'm lead to believe there is a deal on the table. How it has come to this is down to him. Kimura Performance Ltd

For Glory, Admiral Sports and us, 50 Years of the Replica Shirt has been a huge labour of love but one we are very proud to have put into the world. The new exhibition at the Nat. Football Museum that we've worked on to coincide with the book launch is the icing on the cake.
