Yesterday at Ụmụọfịa Arts and Books Festival. • Curiosity is the currency of every creative. Stay curious. Read. — Umuọfià Arts and Books Festival

Day two at Ụmụọfịa Arts and Books Festival. • To write about poetry is to write about small ideas, spirituality, music, place, tradition, love, pain and to go beyond them. To write poetry is to travel beyond our realm. — The Poetics of Tradition and Place, Umuọfià Arts and Books Festival

Rosemary Okafor floored me at this year’s festival. RosemaryWrites is so brilliant. Her books are widely read, but I think more people should hear her speak. I think I understand why the critics are now more open to hearing and reading genre writers. Damnnnn Umuọfià Arts and Books Festival

I met Alexandria Humphrey (Alexandria Humphrey ) at Ụmụọfịa Arts and Books Festival. Umuọfià Arts and Books Festival She's so soft spoken and cheerful. 🤗😍 She's the author of 'Nigerian Men Will Stain Your White' and 'Love and Lies'. Please get them and read them. Okay? 🤗

There were so many interesting panels and speakers to clap for at Ụmụọfịa Arts and Books Festival. 😂🤭 My favorite panels were 'Importance of Tourism in Igbo Progress,' 'Poetics of Tradition and Place,' and Surrealism & the collective imagination'. Kudos Umuọfià Arts and Books Festival

Every edition of Umuofia Arts and Books Festival has that panel which nobody knows would eventually be the star of the festival until it happens. These writers, Obinna Udenwe, RosemaryWrites and Michael Chièdoziém Chúkwúderà took the conversation on surrealism to the next level.

At Umuọfià Arts and Books Festival 3.0, someone said the Nigerian creative space does not encourage criticism because they see it as badmouthing but it's not. Criticism is "evaluating thoroughly" and is important because art should provoke thoughts and when it doesn't, we seek out to know why.

In this fascinating panel, on media and tourism, Michael Chièdoziém Chúkwúderà discusses the effect of a soap commercial on him as a child. And Aṅulịka Iwọba links the commercial to how America has perfected its public PR. And posits that the Igbo can do same for themselves and their culture.

The success of Umuọfià Arts and Books Festival for three consecutive years has been a marvel and a trendsetter. We have no organization giving us millions. We are a crowdfunded festival. And being so grateful we acknowledge you all. Though we are in debt, we are more indebted to you all.

Last week, I attended the Ymuofia art and books festival and got some art and books. Special thanks to Ichiban RosemaryWrites Enugu Bookstore and Art Priest for making it a wonderful time. Umuọfià Arts and Books Festival

At the just concluded Ụmụọfịa Arts and Books festival, we had Ichiban, Evidence Egwuono Adjarho, Njoku Nonso and Ụmụnnanwezuoakụ, four of the best critical minds working today in the literary scene to discuss criticism and the contemporary Nigerian literary scene.
