We kicked off our tour of the west today at Dunaverty Golf Club. Willie caddied for us. He was head greenkeeper here for 42 years, his dad for 19 years before him. Willie, his brother and son all won the club champ, his nephew won it 25 times. The Macmillans love their golf!

Rain, wind and sun at The Machrie today but everyone loved it. Some braved a second round in a four club wind but the sensible ones did a wee bit of whisky tasting. Arran beckons next, storms depending…

Great fun on Arran today 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Surely Shiskine (12 holes) and Corrie (9) make for the best 21 hole day in golf?! Thanks to Greg McCrae and friends for pointing us in the right direction - especially to Gary for putting a bottle whisky up for nearest to the pin. A brilliant day.

We finished up our week exploring the west coast and isles with a round at the wonderful Prestwick Golf Club. A fantastic trip. New friends made and new courses discovered. Thanks to the LA guys for bringing the UKGG branded hats!

A fun day at Skibo yesterday. It’s a great setting, with the Dornoch Firth on one side & Loch Evelix on the other. Add in some hills and you’re in for a visual treat. I enjoyed the course. Plenty of ground game opportunities - the putter got a good workout from distance!

It was my first time at St George’s Hill yesterday and I loved it. A world top 100 course without a doubt. Straight in as one of my favourites.

It was a wee bit cloudy and wet at times but Rye was a delight. The course was great fun and the clubhouse is a treasure trove. Also, I’m a big fan of the vertical bunker rakes!

It looks like we may have some sunny October days coming up in Scotland. I’m trying to decide which course to play next week. I’ve narrowed it down to these four and will let Twitter choose.I’ll post some photos and a review. Which one would you like to see the most?
