We welcomed new people at our Aphasia Home Café today! We had fun discussing the upcoming hurling final this Sunday! A lot of Cork supporters present but some Limerick ones too! We also discussed the use of #JAM cards and raising awareness of #aphasia.
Happy St Patrick's weekend from our Aphasia Home Café ☘️Our members said that #aphasia cafés are safe spaces where everyone understands what it's like to live with aphasia. We also spoke about the importance of including people with aphasia as experts in research.
"Language & Speech are issues of Public Health" Pauline Frizelle, Professor UCC Clinical Therapies Society & overall lead on the Happy Talk Project. Thanks Pauline & Aoife O Shea (HT Coordinator) again for presenting this initiative which looks at the role of SLT from a public health lens.
