Very proud of this dissemination activity with high-School students! With my colleagues Gerard Callejo Uxía Fraga and Paula Martínez! Institut de Neurociències de la UB “The Case of the Nahare”: UBneuro’s Scientific Escape Room to Explore Neuroscience neurociencies.ub.edu/the-case-of-th…

Patrik Ernfors (Karolinska Institutet) opened the day with a beautiful reflection on the discovery of neurotrophins — a cornerstone of modern neuroscience 🔬 His talk brought to life the foundational work he shared with Ernest.

Coffee in hand, the room grew quiet as Isabel Fariñas (Universitat València) shared when she first met Ernest — and how their paths crossed in the pursuit of neuroprotection and neurorestoration. A story of hope, healing, and the promise of regenerative medicine. 🌱

Next, Elena Cattaneo Università degli Studi di Milano shared with un an unpublished story and gave a moving presentation on stem cells, genomics, and the relentless pursuit of treatments for Huntington’s Disease—reflecting Ernest’s dedication to advancing science for real-world impact

Emilia Sif Asgrimsdottir, Karolinska Institutet and a recent PhD Student mentores by Ernest, shared with us the latest work of their group Unraveling the roles of endogenous radial glia subtypes in midbrain dopaminergic neuron development

We continue celebrating Ernest Arenas’ legacy with Anders Björklund Lund University, whose path crossed Ernest’s in the early days of cell therapy for Parkinson’s. A journey from shared roots to today’s breakthroughs🧠
