Excited to have Prof. Daniela Nicklas Universität Bamberg visiting us. We had several interesting discussions and a fascinating seminar by her on privacy-ethics tradeoffs for tracking humans, animals, devices and events, followed by an excellent lab dinner with superb Indian foods.

Congratulations to sugandh pargal for joining Fujitsu Research as a System Design Expert. She worked on safe and sustainable transportation during Ph.D. and got publications at ACM TORS, ACM JCSS, IEEE PerCom Workshops, etc. among others. We wish her all the best in her new career.

Had an excellent trip at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur and IIT Ropar during this week, with several activities, meetings and discussions, new ideas and execution planning. Thanks Suchetana and Basant for hosting. Looking for some interesting collaborations ahead for the members of UbiNet: Ubiquitous Networked Systems Lab.

A day well spent with Swadhin | স্বাধীন visiting our lab; we had several interesting discussions and planning for the future collaborative activities.

The third WiP paper that Soumyajit Chatterjee will be presenting tomorrow at IEEEPerCom is on using LLMs for active learning over physical sensing data. We show that LLMs can be useful to support annotation of human activity data through active learning. youtu.be/djXGIx3DqLg?si…

And ... This work received the best WiP Award. Congratulations to Aritra Hota, Soumyajit Chatterjee , and Sandip Chakraborty.

Congratulations to Aritra Hota, Soumyajit Chatterjee, and Sandip Chakraborty for the Best Work in Progress Paper at IEEEPerCom 2025, for the paper "Exploring Large Language Models in Active Learning for Annotating Physical Sensing Data."

It has been an amazing experience chairing IEEEPerCom 2025 workshops with Franca Delmastro from IIT-CNR, Italy. #PerCom this year had 14 different workshops on various topics, ranging from context & activity modeling, security, privacy & trust, pervasive applications, and so on.

An article "Pervasive Sensing to Correlate Vehicle Driving Behavior with City-Scale Traffic Dynamics" by Debasree Das, Shameek Bhattacharjee, Sandip Chakraborty, Bivas Mitra, and Sajal Das has been accepted to IEEE Pervasive Computing Magazine. Congratulations to all the authors! #Pervasive

Excited to serve as TPC Vice Chair for IEEE PerCom 2026—a top-tier (Core A*) conf on pervasive systems & networks! 📡✨ Join us in historic Pisa, Italy 🇮🇹 — home of the iconic Leaning Tower 🏛️ Submit your best work! #PerCom2026 #PervasiveComputing #IEEE UbiNet: Ubiquitous Networked Systems Lab
