Autism is an epidemic.

The first autism prevalence study (Treffert, 1970) showed an autism rate of less than 1 in 10,000 kids.

Today the autism rate in the U.S. in 1 in 36 kids (Zablotsky et al., 2017).

So we've experienced a 27,000% (277-fold) increase in 50 years. 1/

Toby Rogers, Ph.D., M.P.P. Gemma O'Doherty 1) correlation is not causation
2) autistic people can have careers & families as their skill set since the 80’s is now rewarded - genetic possibilies
3) it’s called a spectrum for a reason not everyone as impacted
4) there’s probably a fair amount of misdiagnosis still.

dear_comment_section Gemma O'Doherty You have zero followers. Zero. How is that possible? And no tweets.

In reply to your list:

1.) Yes. But I also show a plausible causal pathway.
2.) About 20% can have careers. I guess you don't care about the other 80%.
3.) Obviously.
4.) Any evidence of that?

Toby Rogers, Ph.D., M.P.P. dear_comment_section Gemma O'Doherty You know what, you seem like a logical person, but you cannot say a “plausible casual pathway” ffs, did you get that Ph.D in sociology? You just have raw data, which CANNOT imply causation. You need observable, empirical evidence for that. Tell me, what in a vaccine causes autism

@AlexCattium dear_comment_section Gemma O'Doherty Anything that causes an immune activation event can cause autism. We know that mercury and aluminum cause autism. But there are hundreds of other ingredients that contribute as well.

Immune activation events:

Toby Rogers, Ph.D., M.P.P. dear_comment_section Gemma O'Doherty Hey man, cute books, but not really scientific? Could use with some actual literature:

For example, this study the book derives from

sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

This study uses a mercury compound (not the same as the one in vaccines) to falsely trigger a viral response

@AlexCattium dear_comment_section Gemma O'Doherty You're not actually looking for evidence. You're looking to defend your position. The evidence to support my position is extensive:
