We have mastered our dancing around the world…motif, pairs, travelling, canon and formation. The children enjoyed picking a selection of dances - Irish, Hip Hop, Russian, Dragon, Greek and Bhangra. Well done year 4! 💃🕺
Thank you to all the amazing children in 4MB this year, you have shown fantastic kindness, hard work, resilience and humour. I’m going to miss teaching you….have a great break!
Welcome to year 4! It was great to meet many of you last week. There has been a lot going on in the first 2+ weeks since we’ve been back at school….lets take a look.
Team building, a visit from Herman, picking up those violins and investigating what makes a good string telephone
In PE, we’re working on Invasion games - starting with controlling the ball and being ready to receive it, then practising how to shield the ball from our opponent - testing our peripheral vision, balance, coordination and speed.
The children have had a fantastic time in the woods, so much creative play, using knives safely, recovering a trapped rope on a branch and feeding me mud muffins 😋
Finding out about pitch in Science this week - making our instruments then finding out what happens to the pitch if you change a feature of the instrument (tighter elastic, more water, larger straws and more!)
Our last session in the woods for the Autumn saw lots of different activities - painting, worms, mud cafe, dens, flint and steel and of course fire 🔥. A nice toffee apple treat to finish off too!
Our last few weeks have been a hive of activity in all subjects….learning strategies for addition in maths, learning what the Romans have given us and investigating more about sound in science.
In PE, we’ve advanced our shielding, defence and position playing this term and played lots of team games to finish our unit. Great effort from everyone to keep up the pressure on their opponents 🏒🏐⚽️
