I am so dissatisfied that they stole the term "vibe coding" from me. When I am in the flow, I'm absolutely vibe coding. Except now I can't use the term due to it now meaning LLM slop.

It's here, folks. Determinate Nix version 3.8.4 introduces a native Linux builder for macOS based on Apple's Virtualization framework. Building Docker images, NixOS systems, and more with no extra setup means cross-platform Nix like never before. Link in thread 🔗🧵👇

Tried GPT-OSS locally on my RTX 4080 after work today. Tool calling: rough. Lots of errors and loops. Reasoning in chat mode: pretty solid. Even wrote working C code (with some hand-holding). Mixed results, but interesting to see what runs locally now. blog.tymscar.com/posts/gptoss

Tried my blender benchmark for GPT 5 and it made a bucket that not only has the handle not connected, but it's not hollow either. It's worse than GPT 4o

One hill I will die on is that (good) video games are good for kids. They look zoned out but they are thinking and exercising their brains a ton.

So Visual Studio Code has this new homepage. You can see in the background some binary, so I couldn't help but inspect the page, and yeah, the whole binary isn't repeated at random. It's all written in CSS. So I decoded it to ASCII, and it says: HAPPY_CODING!

We’ve been roasting the new macOS 26 app icons. Totally fair. But can we take a second to appreciate the new icon for Instruments? 😍

Was watching your video Harrison Kinsley and you asked us to comment if we can find something better than the Jetson Thor for $3500. This Mac has 30% more memory, an M4 max CPU which is much better, and 546 GB/s which is like 3.5 times faster. All that for the same price.
