Maybe somebody can explain this... The thought Alabama wouldn't drop with a SEC title game loss seems accepted as fact. So why is there an assumption BYU would automatically drop with a Big 12 title game loss? They'd be 11-2 with both loss against a top 4 seed. I'm confused.

The committee put themselves in a lose-lose situation with ND & Miami. If it’s Notre Dame ahead of Miami, they’ll deal with the head-to-head fallout. Or if it’s Miami over ND, they have to explain why they flipped two teams on a bye after one has been ranked ahead for a month.

This should be true based on today’s rankings, but the CFP Chair left the door open for flipping Miami and Notre Dame if they’re back-to-back. Texas Tech winning is the biggest key, but it sure wouldn’t hurt if Georgia smacked Alabama too.
