Once again the SFMTA is violating our rights & HR does not have the time to deal with it because they are too busy firing people! They illegally cancelled people's work per 13.6 of the contract but it should be 13.3. They do what they want, violate contracts, City Charter etc...

Met with Sean Elsbernd and he shared with union leaders that the City has a budget surplus! Then I went back to the office to fight for members who were being fired for non-compliance of COVID mandates!

There are many different types of staffing issues. Now there is a hiring issue. SFMTA promoted operators to supervisor positions now they don't have enough people to supervise. Higher more operators! Gong hei fat choy!

SFMTA please stop blaming your inability to provide service on “operator shortage” when you continue to suspend operators in violation of the MOU. You cut service and then the arbitrator makes you pay them and drop the charges! Stop the madness!

The SFMTA’s excuse is operator shortage (then had a hiring freeze for a year) then gets their kicks out of suspending operators! Wednesday 5 operators in front of arbitrator for a total of 15 days of suspensions. Arbitrator reduced that to 1! 14 more days of service! Thanks 250A!

Wish us luck tomorrow we have a difficult case. One of our employers has a member up for a 3-day suspension for running a green light. But they don’t like to talk about it 🤫

Two more operators fired! Even less service now! They have also increased the 1st “going with the flow of traffic” from a verbal warning to a 3-day suspension, eliminating steps to firing even more operators! Why retrain when we can just fired them! 🔥
