Turf growth and recovery have been lagging in many parts of the Southeast this spring. There are some things superintendents can do to manage the effects of slower spring growth, but patience is still needed 👇

Winter injury on warm-season turf (like this zoysiagrass) is widespread in the transition zone. Weather hasn't been ideal for recovery and affected courses are trying to decide between waiting for turf to heal or resodding damaged areas. Unfortunately, there's no easy answer.

Golfers are ready to play when they arrive at a course, but the course wouldn’t be ready for them without a lot of hard work that starts long before the first tee time 👇

Extremely hot and humid weather has many golf courses under serious stress right now. You may notice some temporary changes in playing conditions as superintendents adjust maintenance to help the grass stay as healthy as possible 👇

Every golf course loses grass sometimes, especially during a tough summer like this one. When it happens, golfers often wonder why, so let’s take a look at some of the usual suspects 👇

Cup cutters need just as much maintenance as any other tool/machine. A dull blade = ragged holes and messy edges. A sharp blade = crisp, clean cups every time. Sharpening doesn’t take long, but it makes all the difference in presentation — especially during tournament week.

I’ve played True Blue many times too. Just seems a lot like many other courses in the MB area. The way Stranz worked in the live oaks at Caledonia is genius.
