Raymond Chang The wedding of the church to Christian Nationalism has damaged its public witness. Pastors making political endorsements of a man that is antithetical to Christ’s teachings. Predatory pastors not being dealt with. Racism. Xenophobia. Not enough love of neighbor. To name a few.

Raymond Chang I think the church has gotten so married to a certain cultural expression, it has often lost the ability to cross even the sub-cultures w/in our own context.

Raymond Chang Hypocrisy. Or witnessing people who claim but have no fruit, thus it’s powerless.

If you poke an idol, it’s idolators come out. It saddens me that so many Christians have put Trump over Jesus or have conflated voting for Trump with following Jesus. It’s partisan idolatry.

Raymond Chang Too many American Christians are seeking Christendom rather than Christ and His Kingdom. Young people see idolatry, hypocrisy, ambition, cruelty, legalism, judgment rather than the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Where is love? Where is the Cross? Where is discipleship?
